FFC Cheering on the Tour de Yorkshire!

That's our team in Beverley's slogan as they get set to cheer on the cyclists spinning past the office during the gruelling 2nd stage of the Tour de Yorkshire this Saturday.

The Tour de Yorkshire arrives in Yorkshire on Friday 1st May with the 2nd Stage of the race on Saturday being a gruelling 174K slog from Selby to York. The 2nd stage of the tour is called the “sprinters stage”, taking in Yorkshire’s finest – The Wolds and Beverley before a dramatic finish is promised in the historic city of York.

Excitement has been building for weeks and it has been great to see so many shops, business and homes join in the excitement of the build up to the event. As many others have, the Yorkshire team have embraced the spirt of the tour by decorating the office windows in the colours of the tour, and also to join into the tradition of displaying a bike, they were lucky to have Keith from OverHauled in Hull donate a custom sprayed Family Fostercare children’s bike which they have displayed in the window.

Team FFC Yorkshire have decorated and displayed their own Yellow Jerseys with some thoughts about fostering; reminding those passing by of the rewards and challenges of fostering and of the huge difference fostering can make to the lives of children within the looked after system and the carers that care for them!

The course will take the cyclists, and the supporters, virtually right past the office window, and whilst we're sure the cyclists won't have the chance to take a look, the team are hoping that there might be a handful of people amongst the crowd that might look in and feel inspired to do something life changing themselves - fostering a child!
