Di Sidwell Joins the Fostering Team

Everyone at Family Fostercare is extending a warm welcome to the family to Di Sidwell, who joins us as a Supervising Social Worker for the West Midlands office.

With her experience, committment and respect for the invaluable work of foster carers she will be a fantastic addition to our West Midlands fostering team.

Di has worked with children in the looked after system since 1996 when she became a family support worker for the local authority. After she qualified as a social worker Di worked for many years as an officer in a youth offending team. During her time working with troubled youths she witnessed for herself the positive difference that a good foster placement could make to the life of a child, and this was one of the chief motivations behind her move to become a fostering social worker. Some 7 years later Di says that:

“I am still amazed by the way children flourish and thrive when they are in a secure, nurturing home. Foster carers do a very important job…”

Di’s role as a Supervising Social Worker will involve providing support and advice to our foster carers, helping them nurture foster children so that they can achieve their full potential. She is very much looking forward to meeting and working with our foster carers around the West Midlands region, and we are delighted to welcome her to the family.
