FFC Success in South West Fostering Tender

Family Fostercare are delighted to have been selected as a preferred provider of fostering services to the group of local authorities in the South West.

The decision at the end of last week was the culmination of a lengthy tender process for a four year regional framework agreement for the provision of foster placement services under which Bristol City Council will act as the lead authority.

The decision means that Family Fostercare will be one of an exclusive group of fostering agencies used by Bristol City Council and other local authorities in the South West of England to find and support fostering placements for the region’s looked-after young people.

Martin Rae, Founding Director, says of the decision “We are delighted to have been one of the fostering agencies selected as part of this tender process. We are by no means as large as many other foster agencies, but this tells us that our family-feel approach to fostering is obviously recognised and valued by the tender decision makers. It means they recognise that our agency performs well against national minimum standards, and that’s something everyone on the Family Fostercare team can feel very, very proud of.”

The local authorities and councils involved in the Framework cover the areas of Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, Gloucestershire, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire, with Dorset and/or Swindon councils also potentially participating. So anyone interested in becoming a foster carer in Bristol, Bath, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Dorset or Swindon, please get in touch with Family Fostercare on 0800 321 3230 or use our online form, we’d love to hear from you.
