Raising Money for Children in Need

Malvern Hills 2Family Fostercare West Midlands children, foster carers and staff are going to be walking the majestic Malvern Hills on 8th November, to raise money for Children in Need.

But never fear, it's not too late to join them (although we can't promise the weather is going to be quite as clement as in our picture!)

Obviously Children In Need's cause is one very close to our hearts at Family Fostercare, so everyone was more than happy to get involved in this fundraising challenge.

And what better challenge than a walk on the beautiful Malvern Hills which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Hills extend approximately 8 miles north to south, and at their highest point (the Worcestershire Beacon) are nearly 1,400ft above sea level. As an adopted Welsh woman and keen Welsh language learner, I'm also delighted to sneak in this little 'Wikifact' - the name Malvern is thought to derive from the Welsh 'moel fryn' (pronounced something like 'moy-l vrin') meaning 'bald hill'!

Good luck to our intrepid walkers! And if you are planning anything for Children In Need why don't you pop over to our Facebook page and let us know what you'll be getting up to.
