Family Support Worker
Family Fostercare Dudley Fostering Team
I have a HND level 5 in Working with Children and Families and continued my studies to complete a BA Advanced Practice in Working with Children and Families degree. This has allowed me to develop my practice through a number of roles within the Child and Young People Care System. With many years’ experience of working with children with SEN in settings such as SEN and mainstream schools, residential care homes and nursery settings where I was able to help individual children and young people within my care to grow into their best possible selves.
I have a strong belief that the basis of all care which allows all our children and young people to develop holistically, is through listening to the children and young people’s own voice, and working to develop positive relationships through mutual respect. In turn this allows me to support their individual needs, to thrive and develop to the best of their abilities.
My role as a Family Support Worker allows me to listen to our children and young people in care and enable them to thrive and progress by working with them through: child consultations, organising activities and supporting both carers and their birth children to grow and form a loving family unit to support the needs of all.
I believe that my experience and professional development will allow the upmost respect and development for each individual within my care and with that, they will strive to their personal best and succeed in their bright futures.
