Supervising Social Worker
Family Fostercare Dudley Fostering TeamI joined Family Fostercare in March 2018, having enjoyed working in fostering for the past 14 years. During the course of my profession I have also been a regular Fostering Panel member for Independent Fostering Agencies I worked for.
I qualified as a social worker in 1999, securing my first post with a Local Authority based within a Looked After Children’s Team. This role enabled me to add to the knowledge and skills I had and more importantly to put them into everyday practise. It was a positive time and I will always be grateful for the variety of experiences and challenges it presented me with at the start of my social work career.
As my career progressed I made the decision to move into the Fostering arena and to work directly with carers in a supervisory role supporting and helping them develop and provide the highest level of care to the children and young people sharing their homes.
This continues to be the highlight of my career, and I feel fortunate to have met and continued to work with some very special children, young people, carers and their families. .
