Senior Supervising Social Worker
Family Fostercare East Midlands Fostering Team
I joined Family Fostercare in August 2017 after working for 7 years for an independent fostering and adoption agency covering the Yorkshire and North East regions.
I grew up in a fostering household (my later teenage years) and I have worked as a support worker for local authority children’s services since 2004 in varied roles. Some of these have included looked after children’s advocacy, return interviews for children missing from home or care, and more recently, post adoption support for adopted teenagers.
Before qualifying as a social worker I completed a Degree in Psychology with Counselling and have since gone on to complete Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy levels 1 and 2. One of my more recent roles linked to this training has been to lead and deliver a 12 week therapeutic parenting course to foster carers and adopters, which offers advice and support for those parenting children with attachment difficulties. I love this area of my work and I’m always learning so much from the carers and children I work with!
