Are You Ready to Join the Family?

Why Join Family Fostercare?

Lots of experienced foster carers each year transfer to Family Fostercare. Many of our transferring foster carers come from local authorities and much larger foster agencies. There are a few families that come to us each year because they have relocated to a new area, but the majority of families coming over to Family Fostercare tell us it is because they want a more personal, people-centred approach from their foster agency.

Whilst there are many benefits of working with a very large foster agency, foster carers have often told us that they felt swallowed up and slightly lost amidst the vast business infrastructure and there wasn't much room for individual voices and needs to be heard.

We hear a wider range of stories from foster carers transferring from local authorities. Many foster carers come to us to develop their skills to enable them to take on more challenging placements where they can make the most difference to children's lives, and receive a fostering allowance which reflects that. Others come to us for the opportunity to develop stronger, more supportive relationships with social workers and the whole of the fostering team. Our committment to keeping our local offices small means that all our fostering teams around the country have the time to dedicate to building strong 'team around the child' relationships which help to make foster placements more stable, rewarding for all involved and which ultimately lead to better outcomes for children.
