Why Use Family Fostercare?
Our Services
Family Fostercare offers placements for children between the age of 0-18 years. This includes single placements for those children needing extra support or with high-risk factors, sibling groups, parent and baby, emergency, short-term and long-term placements and preparation for moving on to adoption.
The Family Fostercare Ethos
Our agency ethos is rooted in the principle of family. We believe in the power of a nurturing and supportive family group to transform children's lives. A strong family looks after every person in it, making time for them, showing them that they matter, keeping each other safe from harm or worry, celebrating successes and sharing problems. We set out to be the foster agency with a family feel - providing a team around the child approach where everyone feels like one of the family.
For us this means:
Lightning Speed Response
Our care starts even before placement. Acting quickly to find the right foster home, first time can help to minimise distress and get the healing process started. We are a dynamic, flexible agency with the ability to respond to local authority needs much quicker than many larger fostering providers. Referral enquiries go straight through to the Registered Manager for a fast and efficient response.
Small, Friendly Agencies
Rather than having a large centralised structure we have small offices scattered throughout the regions with a maximum of 25 fostering families attached to each office. This affords us the time to give high levels of individually tailored support and care to looked after children, foster carers and their families.
Accessible Leadership
Our Directors' leadership promise is to be accessible to every individual in the 'fostering family'. Local authorities, children's social workers, our own staff, foster carers and looked after children can ring them direct. This lets every individual know they are important and they matter to us.
Consulting
Our Directors attend every foster carers' forum. They listen to what foster carers tell them and they act on it. Directors visit every foster carer home annually to listen to their views and to ensure for themselves that the home is well-maintained, warm and welcoming. We consult frequently with looked after children and foster carers' children to ensure they are safe and happy. We listen to the children and find ways to improve the way we work for them.
Acknowledging
Through our managers' regular reporting on children's outcomes, the Directors are able to acknowledge achievements, large and small, by sending every looked after child a specially designed and individually signed Well Done card.
Children's Identity
We are passionate about working hard to promote looked after children's identity. We are adopting Edith Nicholls' New Life Work model to help us to this.
