Job Title: Supervising Social Worker

Location: Yorkshire- Doncaster Office

Contract Type: Part Time

Hours: 22.5 hours per week

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 pro rata

Supervising Social Worker
An exciting opportunity to join our small but busy team, Family Fostercare are currently seeking a Supervising Social Worker to fill a part time vacancy. You will support the agency in ensuring all government legislation, Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards are complied with.
This is a Home/office-based role offering flexibility.

Job Specification

  • Provide support, supervision and training to Foster Carers to provide a safe and appropriate environment for children and young people in their care
  • Enabling and challenging the safe practice of Foster Carers and ensuring continued suitability and competence
  • Participate in Annual Reviews of Foster Carers
  • Maintain accurate recording in all aspects of the fostering task and ensuring Foster Carers are recording appropriately
  • Completing and reviewing comprehensive Risk Assessments
  • Working with Foster Carers to ensure Children and Young Peoples Care Plans are continually monitored and worked towards
  • Ensuring Family Safer Care Plans are current and comprehensive
  • Undertaking bi-annual unannounced visits
  • Participate in the Out-of-Hours Duty Line
  • Assist with facilitating Activities, Support Groups and Training
  • Develop links between the community and the agency to enable young people to participate fully in the life of their local community
  • Promote positive relationships between Family Fostercares Service Users and all professional personnel and supporting agencies
  • Act at all times in accordance with all Regulations and Guidelines as laid down by all relevant Government legislation.

Salary

Location Yorkshire and Cumbria

You will have a relevant professional qualification in social work, together with valid SWE registration. You will also have experience of undertaking assessments of potential foster carers. A good knowledge of the fostering regulations, childcare law and safeguarding issues is essential. You will be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

You will need to be flexible and have the capability to use your initiative and work under pressure to ensure deadlines are met and to enable the smooth running of the service.

In return Family Fostercare will offer you training, guidance, a dedicated Panel and Assessment Manager, and an administrator who will collate all reference and checks so you can concentrate on the assessment. Family Fostercare will continue to operate a blended approach to completing Fostering Assessments of face to face and virtual visits.

Fee per assessment: £1800 plus £200 for early completion, 0.45p per mile.

Family Fostercare in East Yorkshire, based out of Beverley, are looking to recruit an experienced full-time Fostering Admin to provide administrative support to the fostering teams and Family Fostercare in its prime duties of delivering foster care recruitment, approval and support within the Regulatory regime. This will include typing and clerical support, implementation, maintenance and update of systems and records, co-ordination of and minute taking during official meetings, data entry, reception and telephone duties.

This is a fast-paced role and you will need to be IT proficient with a good knowledge of Microsoft office – especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint and have exceptional written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail in order manage confidential and complex admin duties. You will need to be flexible, resilient and able to work under pressure to meet targets and achieve deadlines.

As Fostering Admin your main duties will include:

  • To support the Registered Manager in all aspects of quality assurance
  • To undertake health and safety checks as required by legislation on behalf of the Registered Manager
  • To be the office based first aider/fire marshall and undertake update training as required
  • Maintain petty cash systems in line with the finance policy
  • Ensure foster carer allowance procedures are followed
  • Replenish stationery as required
  • Use of the company database system
  • Covering other regional offices by long arm support to ensure effective delivery of work throughout the agency
  • Induction and training of new staff

As Fostering Admin you must:

  • hold a minimum of 5 GCSEs, or equivalent, including minimum C Grade in English and Mathematics
  • be able to evidence achievement in Microsoft office applications and/or keyboard skills
  • have administrative experience gained through recent, relevant employment
  • have a working knowledge of relevant children’s services and fostering legislation and regulations
  • be willing to work flexibly and be able to work on occasion outside of normal office hours

Supervising Social Worker, Worcester

Family Fostercare West Midlands, based in Worcester, are looking to recruit an experienced full-time Supervising Social Worker. The purpose of the role is to contribute to the operational delivery of an effective Fostering Service that positively promotes the Every Child Matters outcomes for looked after children.

You will be responsible for fostering supervising social work provision including managing own caseload whilst managing the reputation of the Agency and complying with national and service procedures and guidance

 

As a Supervising Social Worker your main duties will include:

To ensure compliance in relation to all fostering agency tasks associated with the post including: foster carer assessment, approval, and training: promptly dealing with safeguarding issues, complaints, allegations or concerns; being involved in placement planning and foster carer reviews.

As a Supervising Social Worker you must:

  • have an MA Social Worker, DipSW, CQSW or other equivalent social work qualification
  • be registered as a social worker with the HCPC

  • have a minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience in children’s social care or equivalent voluntary/charity sector
  • be eligible to work in the UK

  • be a car driver

Form F Assessors

Family Fostercare is recruiting self-employed assessors to undertake Form F or Fostering Network Skills to Foster assessments to complete applications for potential foster carers.

We currently need assessors in the West Midlands / Worcestershire region and in Yorkshire.

If you are a HCPC registered social worker with a transportable DBS and have at least 3 years post qualification experience of undertaking assessment work, have relevant insurances and your own transport, we would wish to hear from you.

We offer competitive fees on a per-assessment basis, as well as travelling expenses.
